MG Motor Philippines off to a fast start, breaks into 8th overall in sales
MG starts January with 716 units sold.
MG Motor Philippines kicks off 2026 with a solid start, posting 716 units sold in January and carrying strong momentum into the new year. That figure is 181 units higher than its December 2025 tally and represents a 34 percent increase compared to January last year. The numbers point to steady growth for the brand as it continues to build its footprint in the local market.
Leading the charge are MG’s volume drivers, the MG5 sedan and the MG ZS crossover. Both models remain popular among Filipino buyers thanks to their modern styling, generous tech features, and competitive pricing. Also contributing to the January push were newer additions to the lineup, including the MG TRQ L, the brand’s first diesel pickup in the Philippines, and the all-new MG HS Hybrid+, both making their debuts in the final quarter of 2025.
With this performance, MG Motor Philippines climbs to eighth place in overall industry sales based on the latest figures from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. The jump marks another milestone for the brand as it strengthens its position among established players.
Moving forward, MG Motor Philippines says it will continue expanding its presence with new and updated models tailored to local needs. The focus remains on delivering value-driven vehicles, improving the ownership experience, and sustaining growth throughout 2026.
