Grand Canyon Multi-Holdings, Britannica United Motors Inc. map out expansion plans across multiple brands
The group’s expansion plan includes bigger showrooms and expanded service centers.
A small group of local motoring journalists got a rare peek behind the curtain last week as Grand Canyon Multi-Holdings Inc. and Britannica United Motors Inc. (BUMI) opened their doors for a media briefing centered on the company's growth plans and where things might head next in terms of press partnerships.
Group Chairman Peter Po headed the presentation alongside President Andrew Po and Zenaida Obligacion, Vice President for Luzon Operations. The trio walked attendees through the company's roadmap, touching on where the group currently stands and what's coming down the pipeline.
One point they were quick to underline: the group now runs 14 MG dealerships across the country, making it the biggest MG network in the Philippines. That's not where it stops, though. More branches are in the works for MG, Jetour, Omoda & Jaecoo, and VinFast, with several key cities still on the list for new locations.
There's also a facelift coming for MG Libis. The current showroom will be renovated and expanded to give customers more room to browse, while aftersales work gets shifted over to a larger service hub at The AutoComplex. That new facility isn't just for MG owners either. It's built with 11 service bays that will handle MG, Omoda & Jaecoo, and Nissan vehicles under one roof.
Interestingly, cars aren't the only thing keeping Grand Canyon Multi-Holdings busy. The conglomerate also touched on its footprint in hospitality, pointing to Mandarin Island Hotel Boracay, a beachfront property sitting right in the heart of Station 2.
Once the formal presentation wrapped up, journalists were led over to the temporary Omoda & Jaecoo showroom in Libis for a walkthrough. Parked inside were a few of the group's newer electrified releases, including the Jaecoo J5 EV, the MG RX9 PHEV, and the MG G50 PHEV, giving everyone a chance to check out the hardware in person rather than through a press photo.
All in all, the briefing painted a clear picture of where Grand Canyon Multi-Holdings and BUMI are putting their resources: more dealerships, upgraded facilities, and a growing lineup of electrified models aimed at getting more Filipino drivers into newer, greener rides.
