MG Motor Philippines maintains 8th place in industry ranking, posts solid Q1 2026 sales
MG Motor Philippines holds firm in the industry top 10.
MG Motor Philippines wrapped up the first quarter of 2026 with 2,109 units sold, a result that keeps the brand firmly in the conversation among the country's top-performing automotive nameplates.
MG’s sales numbers were also consistent throughout the quarter. January came in at 716 units, February at 696, and March at 697. Steady, reliable demand across a growing lineup. Based on the latest figures from CAMPI, that performance was good enough to hold 8th place in overall industry sales rankings.
The MG5 and MG ZS continued to do the heavy lifting. The MG5 remains a solid choice in the subcompact sedan space, while the ZS holds its own in the increasingly competitive subcompact crossover segment. Both models have built a following by offering modern styling, practical everyday features, and price points that are hard to ignore.
Newer additions to the lineup are also starting to make their own mark in the market. The MG HS Hybrid+ gave the brand a stronger foothold in the compact crossover market and helped widen its appeal to buyers who are increasingly open to electrified options. Speaking of which, MG's hybrid offerings are gaining real traction as more Filipino motorists weigh fuel efficiency alongside upfront cost when shopping for a new vehicle.
Looking ahead, MG Philippines is planning to press on with new model launches, a broader dealership footprint, and continued rollout of nationwide programs. The goal, it seems, is to make sure more Filipinos get a shot at what the brand has been pitching: cars made with a combination of innovation, performance, and most importantly, value.
